This media installation takes life stories and presents them as a small archive of drawings that viewers interact with. I asked people to draw their life right now on a piece of card stock. They were filmed creating their responses. I created an interactive system by making these drawings detectable. Placing a drawing onto the surface of a wooden box plays the video of its creation. Interact with the drawings to hear the stories behind them.

The system is simple. A webcam inside the box detects a unique code on the back of each drawing. The code is then read as a specific line of text, which recalls videos accordingly.

While my system is rudimentary, it still successfully displays an archive of digital media driven simply by physical drawings.
