‘Memories of the Future’ is the story of artist Jackson Emmett, a veteran of the Vietnam war. On the eve of a major art show, Jackson finds himself dreaming of past experiences during his time in-country 50 years earlier.
On the night of his opening, he invites the lovely Natalie LaBourgenon back to his loft, who steals a priceless relic and family heirloom ‘crows-head’ stone. Later, at his family’s private club, Jackson’s domineering father reveals that he has promised to donate the relic to the local museum. Jackson is forced to confront the disappointment of his father, and the loss of the heirloom which he promises to track down.
As a way of coping and trying to make amends about his guilt of the war, Jackson provides English lessons to a young Vietnamese woman who he meets through video chat.
Jackson’s search for the lost crow-stone intersects with the search for his own lost soul.
