The NBA trade deadline is quickly approaching, and multiple teams in the league are looking to be extremely active in trading some big names. Two of the biggest names that have popped up lately are D’Angelo Russell of the Golden State Warriors and Ben Simmons of the Philadelphia 76ers. The Warriors and 76ers may be discussing a trade that could send Ben Simmons to California and D’Angelo Russell to play alongside Joel Embiid in Philadelphia. The deal wouldn’t be able to happen until next summer when Ben Simmons’ contract goes up, but the two teams can still discuss the framework of a deal.
The Los Angeles Lakers and Sacramento Kings have reportedly discussed a deal centered around Kyle Kuzma and Bogdan Bogdanovic. Kyle Kuzma has been disappointing for the Los Angeles Lakers this season, so could he be on the move? The Lakers trading him to the Kings would have to start with a deal centered around Bogdan Bogdanovic, who is set to be a restricted free agent this summer for the Sacramento Kings. Bogdanovic has been playing a 6th man role for the lottery-bound Sacramento Kings this season and has a lot of potential to grow with a young core of De’Aaron Fox, Marvin Bagley and other Sacramento Kings.
The Oklahoma City Thunder have been in trade talks all season long, but now they are beginning to ramp up once again since the Thunder are winning games. Along with that, Chris Paul has been more than valuable for the Thunder with clutch performances and winning basketball. The Thunder are also open to discussing trades including other key players such as Steven Adams, Danilo Gallinari and Dennis Schroder. Steven Adams would be a welcome addition to just about any team, as would Danilo Gallinari and his instant offense. Shroder has been great off the bench for the Thunder as well.
Another big name player that has been in trade talks for some time now is Andre Drummond of the Detroit Pistons. Blake Griffin is likely done for the season, and the Pistons are beginning to move toward younger players such as Sekou Doumbouya and Luke Kennard. Andre Drummond has a player option that he is likely to decline this upcoming summer, which means he will likely move on from the Detroit Pistons. The Pistons will look to get something for him while they can.
