Host and Award Winning Author & Journalist GW Pomichter interviews Indie Filmmaker/Producer and Owner of FDMC Social & Digital Media LLC’s Roy Garton during HWWS Media Group’s Virtual Media Day.
Roy Lewis Garton got his start in acting while growing up in beautiful Jackson Hole, Wyoming. Here in the heart of Grand Teton National Park he was cast as an extra in the TV series “The Monroes” with Clay Anderson and Barbra Hershey. Mr. Garton took a break from films and pursued his career in broadcasting working as a news journalist. He was employed with various radio and television stations throughout the Western States including one in his hometown in Jackson. Mr. Garton was one of the first to provide video footage on the outbreak of the Yellowstone fires that devastated the park in the 1980’s. Roy left Wyoming in 1992 and moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma again working in television before settling down in Florida which was his home for the past 17 years. The acting bug caught Roy again while he was in Florida and he re-launched his career in films and television once again appearing in several network television series and independent films. In January 2018, Roy and his wife Mary, moved to Cookeville, TN outside of Nashville to be closer to their roots of country living and the mountains. Mr. Garton also moved his production company to Tennessee. Besides his other business interests, Roy continues to act in films and television. He is also involved with working on independent films as a writer, director, and producer besides running his digital media company, FDMC Digital Media LLC.
